Growing up as a Latin Jew in Southern California, Analucía Lopezrevoredo was surrounded by Latino and Jewish communities, each rich in culture. Yet she rarely met people who, like her, embodied both identities. She loved sharing her Jewishness, but it was often assumed that she was only Latina — most people never considered that she could be both.
While this might have discouraged others, for Analucía it fueled a lifelong curiosity and passion to explore belonging, identity, and the intersection of cultures. Throughout her career, Analucía has worked in Jewish community-building and global development. She’s been motivated by the desire to preserve heritage, cultivate belonging, and strengthen interfaith and intercultural connections.
Eventually, her interests led her to pursue a PhD in social work and social research, where she deepened her understanding of immigrant identity formation and community narratives. Her studies gave her the tools to unflatten perceptions of Jewish life and create spaces where Latin Jews feel seen, valued, and celebrated. Jewtina y Co., a nonprofit organization that Analucía founded in 2019, is one of those spaces.
“I’m passionate about expanding the way people think about the global Jewish community. I’m proud to be a Latin Jew, and I love being a Jewish communal professional. I’m grateful to have a platform that allows me to express all of who I am and build bridges for others to do the same.”
Analucía’s journey was supported, in part, by Hebrew Free Loan’s interest-free student loans, which helped ease the financial burden of her doctoral studies.
“The interest-free loan from Hebrew Free Loan greatly reduced the financial stress of my PhD program. I had already been in school for so long, and having that peace of mind really lightened the burden!”
Today, Jewtina y Co. is a thriving community that unites Latin Jews to celebrate their identities, nurture leadership, and build meaningful connections across the U.S. and Canada. As the organization continues to grow, so does its impact — sparking dialogue, challenging assumptions, and strengthening the Jewish community to be more inclusive and reflective of our diverse world.
“Jewtina y Co. is a Latin-Jewish community for members from all walks of life, including those facing immigration uncertainty. I share my experience with Hebrew Free Loan in the hope that more Latin Jews can access interest-free student loans for higher education, regardless of status. At first, I thought it was too good to be true — but the process of applying for and receiving a loan was surprisingly easy.”
At Hebrew Free Loan, we are proud to have supported Analucía on her journey. We remain committed to helping students from a wide range of backgrounds to access the education and training they need to succeed, and our interest-free student loans can help make their goals a reality. Even those who are not Jewish may be eligible through our Pollak Community Loan Program, if they are referred by one of our partner programs.
By investing in the hopes and dreams of individuals from all walks of life, we strengthen our collective future.
