We’re a nonprofit that provides interest-free loans to help Jewish individuals in Northern California overcome financial challenges and pursue life dreams.

Some of our loans are also available to non-Jewish residents of Northern California who fall into one of the following categories:

Student from a lower income home who is referred by a partner program (click here to learn more)
Employee of a Jewish organization
Business partner or immediate family member of a Jewish individual

As loans are repaid, funds are recycled to make new loans. We’ve proven the success of this model with a repayment rate of over 99.5%.

Adoption

Get help with the costs of international or domestic adoptions. Loans available to individuals or couples.
Up to $20,000

Business

Launch or expand your small business.
Up to $50,000

Coronavirus Impact

Get help with financial hardships due to COVID-19: rent, food, child care, small business expenses, etc.
Up to $20,000, depending on need.

Debt Consolidation

Find relief from the burden of high-interest debt and get on the road to financial well-being.
Up to $20,000

Disaster Relief

Get help with immediate needs or longer-term recovery costs related to a natural disaster.
Up to $25,000

Emergency

Get help with urgent needs such as food, shelter, or medical expenses. We process these loans as quickly as possible.
Up to $3,000

Environmental

Interest-free environmental loans to help with projects or purchases that increase energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, conserve resources, protect the climate, and/or reduce waste.

Fertility

Get help with the costs of a wide range of fertility treatments. Loans available to individuals or couples.
Up to $20,000

First-Time Homebuyer

Get assistance with closing costs, basic repairs, moving expenses, furniture, and appliances.
Up to $25,000

General Needs

Get help to handle challenging financial needs or cover upcoming expenses.
Up to $20,000

Health Care

Get help with medical and dental expenses that aren’t covered by insurance, including home health care.
Up to $20,000

Israeli Assistance

Interest-free Israeli Assistance loans are available to assist family and friends with humanitarian needs caused by the war in Israel.

Jewish Organizations

Jewish social service, religious, and educational organizations are eligible for help to meet one-time financial challenges.

Life Cycle

Get help with the costs of a wedding, bar/bat mitzvah celebration, funeral, or burial of your loved one.
Up to $10,000

Recently Unemployed

If you’ve lost your job in the past nine months, ease your financial pressure while you look for new work.
Up to $20,000

Special Needs

Help with costs to address mental health challenges, cognitive issues, developmental differences, or physical disabilities.
Up to $20,000

Student

Get help with the costs of pursuing a degree or certification. Undergrad, graduate, and vocational students are eligible.

Help with higher education costs for lower-income students from Northern CA who may not be Jewish.

Hebrew Free Loan Ukranian Assistance Loans

Ukraine Assistance

Support family and friends who are still in Ukraine or have fled the country. Can be used for any humanitarian needs.
